"Walk This Way"

On a road trip across the country, I was fascinated by the wildlife in Alberta. I photographed this elk in mid-stride and it occurred to me that this gentle giant wasn't afraid of me and my approaching iphone.  The layers of old delicate papers, pastels hues and dreamy encaustic wax, reinforce the notion of not mistaking a gentle being for a weak one.  Walk this way is about effortless confidence and strength.
